There is a trending new travel destination in the Philippines – Daang Kalikasan in Pangasinan. It is a 54-kilometer road, which stretches from Mangatarem in Pangasinan all the way to Santa Cruz in Zambales, cuts through several forests and mountains, offering motorists a scenic view of the area.
Though this is scenic and breathtaking, we should also realize that it cuts through the mountain and the natural surrounding. It also brings into the area an unprecedented possibility of pollution and other human waste. What is the purpose of Daang Kalikasan? If it is indeed for the people to appreciate the beauty of the environment then this is the wrong way to do it.
