This report confirms that the country is in an unsustainable path in terms of food security. Local supply of food is going down while 1/4 of our food needs are now imported. In fact we rely on food imports even to stabilize food prices. In the face of the climate crisis where we expect to see drastic reduction of food production worldwide, food exporting countries to whom we have become dependent will have more reasons to reduce or stop exporting, putting us in deep food insecurity. The greens must not only push for 100% organic food production but we must also ensure that we are self sufficient in food production by supporting integrated organic small farming families and communities.
