We would like to announce the candidacy of DAVID D’ANGELO, National President of GPP Kalikasan Muna – Green Party of the Philippines for SENATOR of the Republic of the Philippines in the 2022 National Elections.
He is running as GPP candidate under PLM – Partido Lakas ng Masa together with Leody De Guzman (Presidential Candidate), Atty. Luke Espiritu (Senatorial Candidate) and Roy Cabonegro (Senatorial Candidate) . He will carry the GREEN AGENDA of the party and will be focusing on issues that are pro-environment, pro-people, and pro-greener future.
David is an active environmental advocate since 1994 at a very young age. As a youth leader, his organization Brotherhood of Destiny (BROOD) is an active member of the Youth for Sustainable Development Assembly (YSDA) and the Generation Peace Youth Network. He also took an active role during the campaign to pass the Renewable Energy Bill as a member of the Positibong Alternatibo and Renewable Energy (P.A.R.E.) ni Juan by WWF.+
He is also involved in advocating for peace in Mindanao as a leader and later on the staff of PeaceTech which promotes dialogue and education between young Muslims and non-Muslims through education and videoconference.
BROOD helped in empowering out-of-school youth and other leaders in joining a vision for collectivism that includes care for various social causes.+
His involvement in the green party began in 2004 as a member of Partido Kalikasan. In 2010, he became part of the National Campaign Team for then environmental candidate, Nicanor Perlas. In 2018, he was invited to join back the Partido Luntian which later became GPP Kalikasan Muna (Green Party of the Philippines) and was instrumental to the renewed membership of the party to the Asia Pacific Greens and Global Greens.+
His candidacy was a result of an internal nomination process and our participation in the Kalikasan Muna (Nature First) coalition together with 8 other groups.
