May 2020 is the Month of The Oceans and we received a very unsettling video from a concerned citizen from Lapu-Lapu City about the current state of the Mactan Channel. The video came from a youth leader who is supportive of our campaign regarding the oceans.
Meron ding isang banda dito na parang naiipon yung mga basurang nadala ng tubig. Gusto ko sanang aksyonan to kaso hindi ko alam kung sinung lalapitan .. masyadong marami kung ako lang mag isa e. Wala akong pambili ng paglalagyan. Naaawa po ang sa mga ibon. Since bata pa ako andiyan na sila e. Pero ngayun. Paunti ng paunti na sila.
He wants to take action but he does not know how to start. The state of the area seems devastating and we are calling on local officials and organizations to take action. We will also be coordinating with a nearby Convenor of the Green Party of the Philippines to look into this situation.
